EAU CLAIRE, Wis. -- St. Kate's soccer (1-0-2) defeated non-conference foe, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (1-1-2), 1-0 Wednesday evening. The victory is the Wildcats' first regular-season win after back-to-back double-overtime ties in California.

The Blugolds outshot the Wildcats in the first half firing off seven to St. Kate's five. In the second 45 minutes, the Wildcats' totaled an additional five shots over Eau Claire's three. Elton paced St. Kate's with four shots, two on goal playing the complete 90 minutes.
Sophomore
Kate Praetz was in net collecting four saves. After today's shutout, Praetz ranks amongst the top three in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) for goals allowed (1), goals-against average (.29), and save percentage (.917).
The Wildcats open the MIAC season on the road at the College of Saint Benedict on Wednesday, September 15 at 4 pm.
