ST. JOSEPH, Minn. -- The St. Catherine soccer team opened Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) play on Wednesday at the College of Saint Benedict. The Wildcats took down the Bennies 1-0 which is the fifth consecutive win over the Bennies for St. Kate's.
Amanda Elton got the St. Kate's going in the 63rd minute when she scored with help from
Taylor Johnson. Elton recorded three shots in the goal playing the complete 90 minutes. Senior
Rachael Holm knocked off two shots in the game along with senior
Sofia Campbell.
Sophomore
Kate Praetz registered her third straight shutout helping St. Kate's to a 2-0-2 overall record.
Elton had scored all three of St. Kate's goals this season with the third most goals in the MIAC while Praetz is tied for third for goals against, allowing just one and also ranks third in the MIAC goals against average at 0.23
