Soccer makes comeback victory against Central at home

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine soccer team advanced to 4-0-2 with a 2-1 victory over the Central College Dutch at home on Tuesday afternoon. For the second straight home game, St. Kate's secured a come from behind 2-1 victory notching late goals in the second half. 

The Dutch took the lead in the 52nd minute after both teams played a scoreless first half. St. Catherine owned the shot count tallying throughout the game getting off eleven in the half to Central's one.

There was no lack of chances again in the second half for the purple and gold as they recorded 13 with two finding the back of the net with less than 15 minutes to play. 

First-year Sydney Nelson was responsible for both goals securing the win for St. Kate's. Her first goal was unassisted shortly after a corner kick attempt from the Wildcats. Her game-winning goal came in the 88th minute of play with help from senior Lauren Witte

St. Kate's returns to conference play hosting Saint Mary's University on Saturday at 1 pm.
