Wildcats finish season opener in 1-1 tie after 2OT

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- St. Catherine soccer opened the fall 2021 season in California facing California Lutheran University finishing in a 1-1 tie in double overtime. 

Junior Amanda Elton scored at 9:49 in the first half unassisted  to take a one goal lead over Cal Lutheran. The Regals' tied the game at with just over ten minutes remaining in the half with sophomore keeper Kate Praetz in net. 

Senior forward, Amora Valenica tallied two shots with one on net in the game along with Elton leading the way for the purple and gold. Praetz recorded four saves allowing just one goal in 110:00 minutes. 

St. Kate's returns to play at Occidental College on Friday, September 3 at 7 pm PST.
