NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- Early scoring led St. Catherine soccer to a 2-1 victory over St. Olaf College on Sunday afternoon at Rolf Melby Field. The Wildcats' concluded their away schedule with the win to improve to 2-0 in this abbreviated spring season.
Lauren Witte netted the first goal for St. Kate's at 4.39 in the first half with an assist from
Rachael Holm. St. Kate's second goal was scored by
Sofia Campbell at 7:56 in the half with help from Witte for the 2-0 lead.
The Oles were able to cut the lead with one minute remaining in the first half for the 2-1 final.
Rookie
Kate Praetz earned the win allowing one goal and recording three saves in 90 minutes.
St. Kate's will host Saint Mary's University on Thursday, April 29 at 3:30 pm for Senior Day.
