MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- St. Catherine tennis swept the University of Northwestern St. Paul 9-0 at Baseline Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota on Monday evening. The non-conference win improves the Wildcats 7-2 overall with the three Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) regular season matches to go before entering post-season play.
Kelsey Dorr and
Bri Dorr defeated the Eagles No. 1 doubles pair 8-1 for a season record of 7-2. The Wildcats' No. 2 doubles team of
Ella Graham and
Reilee Schepper secured an 8-3 win and
Elsa Joly and
Erica Wing won at No. 3 with a match score of 8-3.
In singles play, K. Dorr won in straight sets 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 while B. Dorr played No. 2 with 6-1, 6-1 defeat over Northwestern-St. Paul. Graham earned her fifth win this season at No. 3 with a score of 6-1, 6-0 and Schepper claimed her sixth at No. 4 defeating her opponent 6-3, 6-1. Joly was victorious at No. 5 winning 6-1, 6-2 while first-year
Noelle Slezak won the six singles match 6-0, 6-2.
St. Kate's closes out the regular season with an away match at Gustavus Adolphus on April 24 before returning home on April 27 to host Hamline University. The team closes out the MIAC schedule hosting Bethel University on April 30. Post-season play begins on May 5 and concludes on May 8.
