WINONA, Minn. -- St. Kate's tennis continued their win streak on Friday with a 6-3 victory over conference foe Saint Mary's University. The Wildcats are now 3-0 on the season and 2-0 in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) play.

The Wildcats No. 1 and No. 2 doubles teams secured the first two points of the match with
Bri Dorr and
Kelsey Dorr getting things started for the purple and gold with an 8-3 victory.
Ella Graham and
Reilee Schepper picked up the team's second point with an 8-5 victory and extending their conference doubles record to 2-0 at No. 2. First-years
Noelle Slezak and
Erica Wing appeared at No. 3 falling to the Cardinals 8-6.
St. Kate's secured the win in singles play winning four of the six matches on Friday evening.
Ella Graham was the first victory for the Wildcats winning 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3. K. Dorr remains undefeated at No. 1 as she edged out her opponent 6-0, 6-3. B. Dorr also continued her win streak at No. 2 forcing the tiebreaker after winning her first set 6-2 and falling in set two 6-2 clinching the win with a tiebreak score of 10-7.
Schepper earned a tough win over the Cardinals No. 4 taking set one 6-0 and falling 7-5 in set two. Schepper broke the tie with a score of 10-6 for her second straight conference singles win.
The Cardinals picked up their final two points at No. 5 and No. 6 with wins over
Elsa Joly and
Noelle Slezak, respectively. Joly won her first set 6-4 while dropping the second set with a reverse score of 6-4. Saint Mary's No. 5 singles earned the win in the tiebreaker 10-6. Slezak dropped her first singles match of her career to Emily Henderson of Saint Mary's falling 7-6, 6-4.
St. Kate's is back in action Friday, March 19 hosting the College of Saint Benedict at Baseline Tennis Center at 7:30 pm. The match will be live-streamed on the Wildcats YouTube channel.
