ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine basketball team fell to the University of Northwestern-St. Paul 70-53 on Tuesday evening on the road at Eriksen Center.

Sam Orth led St. Kate's with eleven points and five rebounds while junior
Bree Glynn tallied seven rebounds, seven points, and three steals. Rookie
Greta Schimnowski had eight points off the bench knocking down a pair of threes.
The Eagles had three players in double-figures building a 14 point cushion after the first quarter. First-year Sydney Elliot was responsible for six of the Wildcats ten points going two for two from behind the arch. Going into the half, St. Kate's fell behind by 18 adding eleven as a team while holding Northwestern to just 15.
The Wildcats outscored the Eagles in the second half of the game scoring 11 points from turnovers in the third. Orth finished the fourth quarter with an eight point run going shooting 4 for 5.
St. Kate's will open the home season on Saturday hosting St. Olaf College at 1 pm at
Butler Center.
