NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- The No. 25 St. Catherine soccer team secured a 2-0 victory over Carleton College on the road Tuesday. With the win, the Wildcats improve to 11-1-3 with a conference record of 8-1-1. The victory is also the first time St. Kate's has defeated Carleton since 2013.
Junior
Amanda Elton's two-goal performance extended her season total to 11 including six game-winners, which is a new program single-season record. Elton also remains on top of the conference leader board for most goals this season.
Elton's first goal was scored at 12:09 in the first-period with an assist from senior
Rachael Holm. Her second-goal was the result of a left angle shot in front of the Knights keeper in the 73rd minute.
St. Catherine led the shot count over Carleton with 15 shots led by Elton and senior
Amora Valencia.
Sophomore keeper
Kate Praetz collected her sixth shutout of the season to rank 2nd overall in the league with five saves in the game.
The Wildcats have one final regular season contest on the schedule hosting St. Olaf College on Saturday for Senior Day.
