ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine volleyball team snapped a five-match losing streak with a straight set win over the Augsburg University Auggies inside of
Butler Center on Wednesday evening. The Wildcats dominated the match claiming their first win over the Auggies since 2012 and first straight set win over Augsburg since 2009.
The Wildcats improve to 10-12 on the season and 3-5 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) with three regular season matches remaining. Head coach

St. Kate's offense hit a season-best .412 in the first set with 16 kills and just two errors. First-year
Lexie Petrick tallied six kills in the set pacing the Wildcats a score of 25-20.
The Wildcats took set two 25-17 as senior
Bryana Leverentz recorded a team-best six kills in the second and senior
Lauren Isaacson recorded nine digs to quickly take a 2-0 lead over Augsburg.
The final set was a battle from the beginning with the Auggies taking an early four point lead over the Wildcats at 7-3. The Wildcats inched their way back knotting the set at 13-13 and stamping a six point deficit on the Auggies. St. Kate's claimed the win taking the third set 25-21
Petrick recorded a double-double with eleven kills and ten digs. Isaacson had 17 digs total in the match with nine kills along with Leverentz. Junior setter
Marissa Gilbertson and senior libero
Julia Weiler each played a dominating role in the match. Gilbertson put up 36 assists, six digs and two service aces, plus a block assist. Weiler was behind Isaacson with 14 digs and one kill.
St. Kate's is on the road for the next two matches heading north to St. Scholastica on Friday for a 7 pm match. They travel to the College of Saint Benedict on Friday, October 29 and return home for senior day on Saturday, October 30.
