ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Catherine soccer team added another win to the record with a 2-0 victory over Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) foe, Gustavus Adolphus College. St. Kate's improves to 6-1-2 with an MIAC record of 3-1-0.
Amanda Elton found the back of the net for the seventh time this season with help from
Lauren Witte in the 19th minute for the one goal advantage. St. Kate's controlled play through the half out shooting the Gusties 8 to 4.
In the 67th minute of play, senior
Emma Watt scored on a penalty kick goal, notching her first career goal to go up 2-0. The Gusties lost steam down two goals with over twenty minutes of play getting just one shot off in the final minutes of the game.
The win over on Saturday improves St. Kate's win streak over the Gusties to four which started with MIAC Playoff Championship title in November of 2017.
St. Kate's is on the road for the next two games with a 4 pm game on Wednesday at Hamline and a 6 pm game on Saturday at Macalester. The Wildcats return home on Tuesday, October 12 for a 4 pm match hosting Concordia College.
