ST. PAUL, Minn. - The St. Catherine University basketball team secured its second straight Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). victory topping the Macalester College Scots 69-54 on the road.
Danica Cambrice and Sarah LaVell led the way, scoring 17 points each. St. Catherine is 10-10 overall and improve to the No. 6 spot in the MIAC with a 7-8 record.
It was St. Catherine's second double-digit margin win in a row as they shot 52.7% from the field and made five of nine their three-point attempts. The Wildcats defense held the Scots to shot just 40.8% from the field while going 6 for 18 from behind the three-point line.
Cambrice finished the game with 17 points on 8-15 shooting and 1-1 from the line with six rebounds and three steals. LaVell had a career-high 17 points making three of her six three-point attempts and shooting 7-13 of the bench.
Bree Glynn added 11 points in the game with four rebounds and three steals.
St. Catherine travels to the number five team in the MIAC, Hamline University on Saturday, February 8 taking on the Pipers at 3 pm. Looking ahead, St. Catherine will return home on Wednesday, February 12 hosting the number four team in the MIAC, Gustavus at 7 pm.
