Gorski leads Wildcats to another 2-2 tie with Bethel

BLAINE, Minn. - For the second straight game, St. Catherine University and the Bethel Royals finish in a 2-2 tie after one overtime. With the tie, the Wildcats are now 8-9-2 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) with two game remaining on the regular season schedule.

Sophomore Sophia Gorski was responsible for both of the Wildcats' goals on Saturday netting her first one at 7:05 in the first period with help from rookies Marie Reimer and Lindsey Hays

The Royals tied the contest one minute and twenty seconds into the second period to knot it at 1-1.

Gorski's second goal of the game was on the powerplay assisted by junior Emilee Anderson and senior Lexi Muller to give St. Catherine the one-goal lead until the last minute of play. The Royals scored after they pulled their goalie for the extra skater with less than two minutes remaining. Similar to game one, neither team was able to score again resulting in the overtime tie.

St. Catherine will wrap up the regular season next weekend with a two-game series with Hamline University. The Wildcats travel to Tria Rink on Friday at 5 pm and host the Pipers on Saturday at 2 pm at Drake Arena.
