MOORHEAD, Minn. - In heartbreaking fashion, St. Catherine University basketball fell to Concordia College 94-85 in four overtimes.
Danica Cambrice led St. Catherine in the loss adding 23 points for the second straight game.
St. Catherine was off to a slow start against the Cobbers trailing by 8 after the first ten minutes. Things turned quickly in the second quarter as St. Catherine scored 24 points in just ten minutes to trail by just 3 headed into the half.
Both teams added 11 points to the box score in the third quarter with the Wildcats still down by 3 points with one quarter remaining. At the end of regulation, St. Catherine and Concordia were tied for the first time at 59-59 forcing the first overtime of the game.
Cambrice was responsible for St. Catherine's four points in the first overtime knotting it up at 63-63. The senior guard added another five points in the second overtime along with senior
Jackie Radford adding three to force a third overtime with a tied score of 75-75. The Cobbers ran away with the game in the fourth overtime adding 14 points to the Wildcats just five.
To go along with Cambrice's 23 point game, the Wildcats leading scorer had a career-best 18 rebounds, five steals, 2 blocks and 2 assists.
Brooke Torvik added a career-best 13 points off the bench with two rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal.
St. Catherine returns to
Butler Center on Wednesday hosting St. Benedict at 7 pm.
