ST. PAUL, Minn. - The St. Catherine University soccer team defeated the Gusties from Gustavus Adolphus 1-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats lone goal was scored by first-year Amanda Elton in the 27th minute assisted by fellow rookie Samantha Mark. St. Kate's is now 6-3 overall and 2-1 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). 

In a battle of the back-fields, St. Catherine was able to hold off the Gusties for 90 minutes as senior goalie Tayler Koop earned the shutout win with six saves in the game. 

Elton led the Wildcats statically in the victory with six shots and three on goal. Sophomore Lauren Witte tallied three shots in the game with two on goal while senior Allie Bird put up three shots, all on goal coming off the bench. 

St. Kate's travels to Moorhead on Wednesday facing MIAC foe the Concordia College Cobbers at 4 p.m.
