Box Score MOORHEAD, Minn. - St. Catherine traveled to Concordia-Moorhead to open the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) on Wednesday falling to the Cobbers in a dramatic five-set match.

Erin Cutts went on a streak from the service line getting the score to 21-14. St. Kate's went onto win the set 25-17.
The second set started with St. Kate's taking a three-point lead over the Cobbers. Similar to the first set, both teams traded points until the Concordia took a five-point lead in the middle of the set. St. Kate's battled back again to tying it at 14-14 and again at 22-22. Sophomore
Bryana Leverentz tallied back-to-back kills to go up 24-22 before the Wildcats defense forced an attack error on the Cobbers for set point.
St. Kate's struggled in the third set as Concordia took a 16-5 lead as a result of Wildcat errors. The team went on to add nine additional points in the set but the Cobbers ultimately took the set with a score of 14-25.
The Wildcats came back in the fourth set taking a four-point lead at 16-12 over the Cobbers. Mirroring the first three sets, both teams traded points through the set until Concordia ran away with the set after 19-19 with a final score of 20-25.
With the match tied 2-2, St. Kate's trailed the Cobbers 8-2 in the final set. The Wildcats were able to force the Cobbers to make several errors and tally five more points in the match but not enough for a comeback.

Todd Nelson said following the match, "We did a good job of sticking to our game plan in the first two sets. Concordia raised their game and we didn't respond as well as I would have liked. Concordia played a really good match."
St. Kate's travels to Duluth/Superior on Saturday for a non-conference series with the College of St. Scholastica at 2 p.m. and the University of Wisconsin-Superior at 6 p.m.
