NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Wildcat tennis team played their first outdoor match in the state of Minnesota this afternoon in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) match against St. Olaf College. St. Catherine tallied three points to the Oles six with sophomore
Ella Graham winning both her singles and doubles match.Â
Graham played in the No. 3 doubles match with first-year
Reilee Schepper to defeat the Oles 8-2. Juniors
Bri Dorr and
Alisha Wiedmeier dropped the No. 1 doubles match 2-8. while fellow juniors
Aubrey Eckstrom and
Maddy Knoll played in the No. 2 match falling 1-8 to the Oles.Â
Eckstrom was responsible for St. Kate's third point in the No. 3 spot defeated her opponent 7-6 (8-6), 6-4. Graham played in the No. 6 spot wining the first set 6-1 and the second 6-0.Â
Dorr was in the No. 1 singles match playing three close sets to ultimately fall 6-3, 4-6, 6-10. Wiedmeier was defeated in the No. 2 spot playing four with scores of 1-6, 7-6 (7-5), 5-10.Â
Knoll and senior
Leah Obert also played three set matches both winning their first set to fall in the last two. Knoll played in the No. 4 spot while Obert played in the No. 5 singles match.Â
St. Kate's will play at home for the first time this season next Friday, April 12 vs Bethel University at 4 p.m.
