ST. PAUL, Minn. - In the first and last match played at St. Catherine University this season, the Wildcats defeated the Concordia College Cobbers 8-1. St. Kate's swept the singles competition, dropping the No. 3 doubles match on Friday.
The No. 1 doubles team of juniors
Bri Dorr and
Alisha Wiedmeier improved their season record to 3-1 with a decisive 8-0 win. Posting the other point in doubles play was the No. 2 team comprised of juniors
Maddy Knoll and
Aubrey Eckstrom defeating the Cobbers 8-3. Knoll and Eckstrom are 2-2 in the No. 2 spot this season as a pairing.
Playing in their final match on the campus of St. Catherine,
Leah Obert and
Ruth Rike were defeated in the No. 3 doubles match falling 6-8.
Dorr won her sixth match this season in the No. 1 singles spot with scores of 6-2, 6-4. While her doubles partner, Alishia Wiedmeier collected her eighth win in the No. 2 spot defeating her opponent 6-1, 6-2.
Knoll won her seventh match this season playing in the No. 3 match for the first time and a 6-3, 6-2 victory. Obert collected her ninth win in the No. 4 spot, also for the first time this season, defeating the Cobber's No. 4 singles player 6-1, 6-0.
Sophomore
Ella Graham played in the No. 5 singles match earning her sixth win and fourth MIAC win with scores of 6-4, 6-2.
The final singles match was played by rookie
Reilee Schepper in the No. 6 spot defeating her opponent 6-1,6-0.
St. Kate's will play again Saturday, April 27 at Baseline Tennis Center facing Hamline University at 8:30 am.
