Danica Cambrice had an 18-point day against the No. 9 University of St. Thomas Tommies in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) season opener. The Wildcats fell to the Tommies 58-41 moving to an overall record of 2-2 and 0-1 in the MIAC.
St. Thomas came out of the gates taking an early lead of 19-8 after the first 10 minutes. After trailing by eleven points, the Wildcats dominated the second-quarter outscoring the Tommies 21 to 11 to trail by one at the half. Cambrice started to cut the deficit, making a three-point basket to begin the Wildcats six-point unanswered run.

Jackie Radford cut the lead to two points with a three pointer with 5:06 left on the block followed up a layup from sophomore
Mackenzie Kurczek to knot the game up at 23-23. With three-minutes remaining in the half, Cambrice took advantage of a foul committed by St. Thomas making both free-throws and taking the Wildcats' only lead of the game at 29-28.
The Tommies ran away with the game after the half, scoring 28 points to St. Catherine's 12 for the final score of 58-41.
Cambrice was 7 for 8 from the freethrow line and made 5 of 15 shots for 18 total points. The Minneapolis native had three boards and three steals against the No. 9 team in Division III. Radford added 12 points against the Tommies and six boards plus one assist. The starting forward was 3 for 5 and 4 for 6 making both of her three-point attempts.
St. Catherine is home again on Tuesday, November 26 at 7 pm hosting No. 23 Augsburg University.
