ST. PAUL, Minn. - After postponing the original play day due to inclement weather, the St. Catherine University Wildcat basketball team hosted the visiting Concordia College Cobbers on Thursday evening in St. Paul. The Wildcats topped the Cobbers 70-59 in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) match-up.
The Wildcats were led by first-year forward
Katie Benjamin with a career-best 17 points against the Cobbers, in just 14 minutes on the court. Benjamin also had 6 rebounds and went 3-3 from the free throw line.
Both teams put up a good battle in the first half with a score of 34-34 after the first 20 minutes. St. Catherine ran away with the game in third quarter outscoring the Cobbers by 11 points.
Behind Benjamin was junior
Danica Cambrice with 14 points and 5 boards, plus
Audra Clark with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Clark continues to increase the career assists program record, tallying another 8 on the night.
The Wildcats are home Saturday at 1 p.m. vs. Bethel on Parents and Alumnae Day. The Wildcats fell to the Bethel University Royals earlier this season on the road 55-64.
