MINNEAPOLIS - The St. Kate's volleyball team traveled to Minneapolis on Wednesday evening for a midweek conference match against Augsburg University. The Wildcats remain winless in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) as the Auggies extend their win streak to 6 matches in a row.
Errors got the best of St. Kate's in the three set loss on the road. In the first set, the Wildcats had the first kill of the match coming from senior right side hitter
Mackenzie Peper (Osceola, Wis.). Following that Auggies gained a three point lead over St. Kate's. The Wildcats were unable to get back in the led in the first falling to Augsburg 25-17.
Augsburg opened the second set with intensity taking a quick lead with the Wildcats unable to stop their momentum. It was in until the Auggies had a 14-point lead that junior defensive specialist
Larissa Kisch (Oakdale, Minn. / Cretin-Derham Hall) snapped their hot streak with five straight points at the service line. St. Kate's battled back to end the second set with Augsburg the victors 25-19. The Auggies ran away with the third and final set topping St. Kate's 25-11

Emma Nelson (Byron, Minn.) was the game leader with 12 digs and 4 kills. First-year middle hitter Bry Leverentz (Anoka, Minn.) had a career best match with 5 kills and 3 digs.
The Wildcats are home again Saturday, September 29 as nationally ranked Gustavus Adolphus comes to town. The 3 p.m. match on Saturday has been designated as the Wildcat Alumnae match with all alums of the program invited to the match and reception immediately following.
