ST. PAUL, Minn. - The St. Catherine University volleyball team is on the road at Martin Luther College for a non-conference match Monday evening. The now 6-5 Wildcats have dropped their last three conference matches as they look take down the Knights for the second time this season.
The last time these two teams met was the first match of the season in St. Paul with the Wildcats sweeping the Knights in three sets. In that match, senior outside hitter
Mackenzie Peper (Osceola, Wis.) had 9 kills leading for the Wildcats as head coach
Todd Nelson spread time in each rotation throughout the match. First-year
Lauren Isaacson (Faribault, Minn.) had a great debut performance in the game against Martin Luther totaling 10 digs, 4 aces and 5 kills.
Since the Wildcats match against the Knights back in late August, things have changed in the rotations a bit for St. Kate's with junior
Emma Nelson (Byron, Minn.) stepping up tremendously to lead the team in kills with 94 kills this season and ranks 33rd in the conference. Peper is just behind her in the conference standings ranking 37th with 87 kills this season. Another team and conference leader is first-year
Grace Amacher (Faribualt, Minn.) with 208 digs ranking 7th and 1st in digs per set in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). Peper, Isaacson, Nelson and Amacher will look to lead their team this evening to their first win in four matches before returning to conference play on Wednesday at Augsburg University.
