ST. PAUL, Minn. - It was a a tough Saturday for St. Kate's soccer and volleyball as they both fell in conference play on the road. Earlier this afternoon, Wildcat soccer loss to Bethel University in Arden Hills, Minnesota, 4-0. The Wildcat volleyball team was the opposite direction from campus in Winona, Minnesota where they fell to Saint Mary's University 3-1.
Soccer at Bethel | L 4-0
The seniors perfect record against Bethel was snapped this afternoon when Bethel overpowered the Wildcats in a 4-0 win. The Wildcats only recorded one shot in the first half to the Royals 7 which resulted in two goals in the first 35 minutes. The first came at the 14th minute and the second near the 35th minute. St. Kate's only shot in the first 45 minutes came at the 40th minute from first-year forward
Amora Valencia (Hemet, Calif. / Nuview Bridge Early College) and saved by Bethel's Kaylee Peterson. In the second half, the Wildcats had more luck getting a shot off adding 6 to the Royals 7. Each of those six shots were saved unfortunately by Peterson. St. Kate's was able to hold Bethel to the two goal lead for the majority of the second half when the Royals were able to get past junior goalkeeper
Tayler Koop (Blaine, Minn.) with back to back goals within 30 seconds of each other.
The Wildcats are now 3-2-1 overall and 1-1-1 in conference play. They will be back in action Wednesday, September 26 as they take on conference opponent Carleton College at home at 4 p.m.

The St. Catherine University Wildcat volleyball fought a tough battle against conference opponent Saint Mary's this afternoon. It was a close match in Winona as the Wildcats pressured the Cardinals in each set. Junior outside hitter
Emma Nelson (Byron, Minn.) totaled 14 kills and 11 digs in the four set match with first-year libero
Grace Amacher (Faribault, Minn.) had another great match with 27 digs as she continues to lead the conference in digs per set increasing her average to 5.78. First-year outside hitter
Lauren Isaacson (Faribault, Minn.) racked up 12 kills and 4 digs against the Cardinals while sophomore middle hitter
Erin Cutts (Osecola, Wis.) was vital at the net with 6 blocks.
St. Kate's is back on the road Monday as they head to non-conference opponent Martin Luther College for a 7 p..m match. They are home again Saturday, September 29 when conference rival Gustavus Adolphus comes to town for a 3 p.m. match.
