MANKATO, Minn. – St. Catherine University basketball dropped a tough battle in overtime on the road at Bethany Lutheran 72-67 on Tuesday evening. The Wildcats led the Vikings through three quarters, as Bethany Lutheran came back from 11 point deficit. With the loss, St. Kate's is now 1-3 on the season before opening the home season next Tuesday.
The Wildcats were neck and neck with the Vikings in the 5 minutes of play before St. Kate's first-year guard
Chloe Venegas (Cottage Grove, Minn. | Park) put up three points to start the hot streak for the Wildcats. St. Kate's had a nine point lead with three minutes remaining and finish the first quarter up five at 19-14. St. Kate's held the 7 point lead at 33-26 over Bethany Lutheran to head into the half.
The second half of the game remained to the Vikings outscoring St. Kate's 38 to 31 and force overtime tied at 64. The Wildcats' were unable to overcome the Vikings late burst of luck to fall 72-67 in overtime.

Sam Orth (Maple Grove, Minn. | Rogers) kept up with her impressive collegiate debut 12 points and 13 rebounds. Also posting a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds was junior guard
Jackie Radford (St. Paul, Minn. | Cretin-Derham Hall).
The Wildcats will host non-conference opponent the Northland College Lumberjacks in their home opener on Tuesday, November 27 at 7 p.m.
