RIVER FALLS, Wis. - St. Catherine basketball secured their first win of the 2018-19 season with a 57-54 win over the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats advance their record to 1-2 with the win over the Falcons 

River Falls led St. Kate's by three points at the end of the first quarter and most of the second quarter when Ashley Fosness (Britton, S.D. / Britton-Hecla) drained a three-pointer to take the one point lead headed into halftime, 25-24.

The Falcons came out of the half strong to pressure the Wildcats in the third as they teams tied the score at 37-37 with just 10 minutes remaining in the game. Both teams battled for the win in the last quarter as St. Catherine overpowered the Falcons 20-17 to top them 57-54.

First-year Sam Orth (Maple Grove, Minn. / Rogers) was the scoring leader for the Wildcats with 16 points following by senior guard Audra Clark (Kenyon, Minn. / Kenyon-Wanamingo) with 14 points. 

The Wildcats play Tuesday, November 20 at 7 pm in Mankato, Minn. against non-conference foe Bethany Lutheran.
