ST. PAUL, Minn. - After an exciting five set win over University of Wisconsin-Superior on Wednesday evening the St. Catherine University Wildcats (8-7, 0-5 MIAC) return to
Butler Center in St. Paul for a 3 p.m. match against conference rival Macalester College. Both the Wildcats and Scots from Macalester are winless in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) as one of them will finish the match with their first conference win.

Todd Nelson and his team are hoping to repeat the Wildcats Wednesday's non-conference match on the road which was the teams best performance this season. Senior outside hitter
Mackenzie Peper (Osceola, Wis.) had a career best 16 kills, junior setter
Meagan Schwarzrock (Hutchinson, Minn. / Valley City State) contributed a career best 29 assists, sophomore middle hitter
Erin Cutts (Osceola, Wis.) picked up 8 blocks, another career best. Junior outside hitter
Emma Nelson (Byron, Minn.) picked up her first double double of the season with 24 digs and 14 kills.
Record performances in the back row included first-year libero
Grace Amacher (Faribault, Minn.) with an impressive 37 digs and junior defensive specialist
Larissa Kisch with 25 digs. Both Amacher and Kisch add to the Wildcats long list of collegiate career performances with these numbers. Amacher remains first in the conference for digs per set improving it Wednesday to 5.78. In total the team collected a program record 122 digs in the five set match.
The last time the Wildcats met the Scots was October 7, 2017 at Macalester sweeping them 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 25-18). Peper led the Wildcats with 8 kills adding to St. Kate's .208 hitting percentage in the quick three set match. This season both the Wildcats and Scots have dropped matches to Gustavus and Simpson and both picked up wins against Martin Luther. The 3 p.m. match will wrap up Wash Out Cancer Day for the Wildcat athletic department in support of the American Cancer Society, Hope Lodge. The match will be broadcast on

The St. Catherine University Wildcat athletic department will be hosting three Wash Out Cancer events on campus Saturday starting with Cross Country at 11:00 a.m. followed by a 1 p.m. soccer game and closing out the day with volleyball at 3 p.m. Each team will be collecting donations to bring to the American Cancer Society-Hope Lodge.
