Basketball set for nonconference showdown with Northland

ASHLAND, WIS. – The St. Catherine University basketball team hit a bit of a snag in its game against UW-Stout on Saturday. The Wildcats were held to their lowest point total of the season in a 67-56 loss to the Blue Devils, despite hot shooting early in the game.

On Tuesday, St. Kate's will try to get back on the winning track as it takes on Northland College at 7 p.m. in Ashland, Wisconsin. Live stats and video will be available for fans who can't make the trek to Wisconsin, and score updates can be found on St. Kate's official Twitter page (@stkateswildcats).

Here are the five things to know before this evening's contest:

0 – Wildcat head coach Don Mulhern has never lost to Northland College in his career. Since 2011-12, Mulhern has compiled a perfect 10-0 record against the Lumberjills, including six double-digit victories in the past three seasons.

7th – Thanks to her strong start to the season, Audra Clark (Kenyon, Minn. / Kenyon-Wanamingo) now has 1098 total points in her career at St. Kate's, allowing her to pass Nancy Ceplecha and move to seventh all-time in Wildcat history. A reigning All-Conference honoree, Clark currently ranks second on the team in points per game (16.3) and total points (65) and leads the team in assists (14).

20.5 – Clark isn't the only one making it rain for St. Kate's offense. Sophomore Danica Cambrice (St. Paul, Minn. / St. Croix Lutheran) has been on fire to open the season, averaging 20.5 points per game thanks to 63% shooting from the floor. Both those numbers rank at the top of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC), as Cambrice leads the MIAC in shooting percentage (.630) and is second in points per game (20.5) this season.

3 – Cambrice's start to 2017-18 has been historic on many levels. The sophomore became just the third player in program history, according to available records, to card three consecutive 20+ point performances in the first four games of the season. In her one sub-twenty point performance, Cambrice scored 18 against Northwestern and pulled in 12 rebounds to open the season with a double-double.

11.5 – As a team, the Wildcats average 11.5 steals per game, the third highest total in the MIAC. St. Kate's has also held opponents to 38% shooting from the floor and 23% from beyond the arc.
