Basketball travels to Wisconsin to play UW-River Falls

ST. PAUL, MINN. – It's been quite a busy start to the season for the St. Catherine University basketball team. Since opening the season on November 15, the Wildcats have played eight games, including six in the last two weeks. This week will be St. Kate's lightest since opening the season a month ago. The Wildcats lone game of the week will be Wednesday night against the University of Wisconsin River Falls.

Wednesday night's game may be St. Kate's toughest nonconference game of the season to this point. UW-River Falls is the reigning Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) regular season champion and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament last season.

Tip off between the Wildcats and Falcons is scheduled for 7 p.m. in River Falls, Wisconsin. Fans who are interested in watching St. Kate's can watch the game online and score updates will be made on Twitter (@stkateswildcats).

Here are the five things to know before tonight's game:

2 – The Wildcats are undefeated on the road this season with a perfect 2-0 record. St. Kate's has also played extremely well against Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) opponents this season. The Wildcats are 2-0 against WIAC opponents this season, with wins over UW-Eau Clarie and UW-Stout.

93 – St. Kate's scored 93 points in a thrilling overtime victory over Augsburg College last weekend. Though, the Wildcats led for the majority of the game, the Auggies outscored St. Kate's 26-16 in the fourth quarter to force overtime.  With two seconds remaining on the clock in overtime and the game tied 91-91, LaShay Holt (Minneapolis, Minn. / Humboldt) found Audra Clark (Kenyon, Minn. / Kenyon-Wanamingo) under the basket for the game winning-layup, giving St. Kate's the 93-91 victory over Augsburg.

21.3 – Clark averaged 21.3 points in three games last week to lead the team in scoring. She tied her career high in points (24) against Crown and scored a team-leading 21 points in the loss to Concordia last Wednesday. However, Clark's shining moment game in overtime against Augsburg, when she hit the game-winning layup with under two-seconds remaining in the game.

14 – Holt was just two rebounds off her career high in Saturday's game against Augsburg. The senior guard pulled in 14 rebounds in the win and scored 20 points, recording her second double-double of the season.

3 – UW-River Falls have played three games against MIAC opponents this season and have a 2-1 record. The Falcons wins over MIAC opponents include a 71-58 over Carleton to open the season and a 67-60 win over Hamline. Bethel is the only MIAC team to beat UW-River Falls this season and needed overtime to do so.
