Box Score After suffering a tough Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Wednesday evening to Saint Mary's University, things weren't going to get any easier for the St. Catherine University baskteball team as it faced another league powerhouse in Concordia College Saturday. Despite the Wildcats' best efforts to slow down their opponent, the Cobbers jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in claiming a 70-38 win over the Wildcats in Moorhead, Minn.
Though the Wildcats managed to tie the score twice and take a three-point lead in the game's opening minutes, the Cobbers eventually went on a 32-11 run to end the first half with a 38-21 lead. The Cobbers also shot an impressive 46.4 percent from the field in the first half making a second-half comeback nearly impossible.
The Wildcats were again led offensively by first-year
LaShay Holt (Minneapolis, Minn.) with a game-high 13 points and seven rebounds. This was Holt's second-straight game as the Wildcats' leading point scorer. She also added two steals and two assists to her team-best performance.
Fellow first-year
Abby Torgerson (Anoka, Minn.) went 3-for-7 from the field for six points, while
Jenna Mistler (Austin, Texas) came off the bench to go 2-for-3 for four points. The junior also added two assists and a steal.
Kennedy Jennings (Des Moines, Iowa) also came in to score four points and pull in four rebounds.
Mari Lee (Dawson, Minn.) led the team in steals with three.
With the loss, the Wildcats fall to 2-8 on the season and 1-6 in the MIAC. They return home Wednesday evening to take on a 7-0 Bethel University squad that now claims sole possession of first place in the MIAC. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the
