After finding itself at the No. 6 spot in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Central Region rankings earlier this week, the St. Catherine University tennis team hoped to continue the strong play that led to the top ranking for any Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) women's tennis team.

The Wildcats were able to keep their momentum alive with a big 9-0 win over Saint Mary's University to remain undefeated and improve to 6-0 in conference play Friday night in Winona, Minn.

Angie Lorenzen (Mitchell, S.D.) and Mikinzee Salo (Brainerd, Minn.) continued their dominance at the No. 3 doubles position as they took down Lindsey Reinisch and Deanne Weber 8-1 to help the Wildcats to another perfect 3-0 doubles outing. The team scored a pair of 8-4 wins at both the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles spots to complete the sweep.

As she has all season, Victoria Bravo (Tucson, Ariz.) proved she is one of the top singles players in the conference with another win in straight sets. Bravo used 6-2, 6-0 wins to defeat  Kirsten Hoffman and remain unbeaten at No. 1 singles.

Lorenzen nearly matched Bravo's score with a 6-3, 6-0 win at the No. 5 singles spot to help propel the Wildcats to their ninth-striaght win this season.

The Wildcats will take a break from conference action as they head to warmer weather for three spring break matches in Texas. The undefeated team will take on three West Region ranked opponents. The first match against the University of Texas at Dallas is scheduled for 2 p.m., on Monday.
