Softball goes 1-1 vs. Buena Vista

Alyssa Luedtke
The Wildcats played through another pair of non-conference games Monday. Both games were settled by a single run difference, with St. Kate's taking the first game 3-2 and losing the second, 5-6.

Morgan Bohmbach picked up another win in the first game. Giving up a single walk and recording five stike outs and two earned runs. Jenna Brady and Shae Elliott each picked up an RBI, while Alyssa Luedtke went 2-4 from the plate, and scored twice including the game winner in the bottom of the seventh inning.

In the second game St. Kate's was held scoreless through the first four innings.  By the time they were able to plate a few runners, they were digging themselves out of a five run deficit. A big fifth inning helped with Jessica Kniefel picking up 2 RBI on a single knocking in Raven Baker and Cassie Rooney

Unfortunately, the Wildcats wouldn't score again until the bottom of the seventh. Again down by two runs and trying to work their way out, they left one runner on base and scored one to bring the final score to 5-6 with Buena Vista getting the win.

The Wildcats are back in action tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 when they host Macalester.
