Saturday's conference match up played out with the first half looking nothing like the second. The Wildcats took an early lead, but went cold, while Gustavus scored throughout the half, running up the score.
The half ended with the score 40-10, considerably favoring Gustavus. St. Kate's committed 18 turnovers, was out rebounded and shot only 22.7% from the field, compared to 53.6% by their opponents.
The second half proved to be an entirely different story as the Wildcats found their shooting stroke, knocking down almost 60% of thier shots, while Gustavus cooled to 36% from the field. Limiting turnovers and taking care of rebounds led to a turn around in the score as well, with St. Kate's outscoring Gustavus 39-31 in the second half. Unfortunatley, the first half deficit was too much to overcome.
St. Kate's was led by
Sarina Baker with thirteen points, three rebounds and two steals on the afternoon.
