After taking down Saint Mary's in the rain last Saturday, the St. Catherine University soccer team hoped it would have the same positive outcome against No. 20 Concordia College on another rainy afternoon, Wednesday in Fargo, N.D.

Unfortunately though, the same outcome did not await the Wildcats against the league-leading Cobbers. After having the game postponed an hour and moved off-campus due to unplayable field conditions, the Wildcats fell 3-0 in a tough Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) contest.

“A couple things didn't go our way today,” said Head Coach Chris Citowicki. “Concordia is a good team and we can learn a lot from this experience.”

Despite coming up on the losing end, the Wildcats played tough defensively and managed to hold the Cobbers to just six shots on goal and 12 shots overall, the Cobbers' second-lowest total this season.

First-year goalkeeper Danielle Mendez (Bloomington, Minn.) came up with three saves in the game, while Christina Paik (Beaverton, Ore.) had one shot in the game. The Wildcats also had three corner kicks in the game.

With the loss, the Wildcats fall to 3-4 in MIAC play and 8-6 overall. The Wildcats return to action, again on the road, against a tough Macalester squad, Saturday, Oct. 20.
