Chris Citowicki

Chris Citowicki enters his sixth season as the Head Soccer Coach at St. Catherine University in 2016. Citowicki adds a vibrant energy to the Wildcat soccer program and brings experience at all levels of the sport.

Since joining St Kate’s in 2011 Citowicki has taken the program to new heights. Under his guidance the program has produced its first ever All-Region and Academic All-Region player in addition to three All-MIAC players, 10 All-MIAC Honorable Mention players, 31 Academic All-MIAC players and one Academic All-District player. Additionally he has overseen new records in goals against in a season, goals for in a season, individual goals in a season, assists in a season and points in a season.

Academically the Wildcats have earned the NSCAA Academic Award over the past four years. The team finished the 2015 fall season with a team GPA of 3.628 (a program record).

The 2015 season proved to be the most successful in program history as the Wildcats qualified for the MIAC playoffs for the first time ever and set a new record for wins in a season (12-6-1) and wins in the MIAC (7-4). The Wildcats placed 5th in the conference. In the spring of 2015 the team took an international trip to Barbados where they defeated the Barbados National Team twice and the University of West Indies.

The 2014 season brought both heartache and success for the Wildcats as they missed qualifying for the MIAC playoffs on the final day of the season and tied a school record for conference wins in a season at 4-7 placing ninth in the conference standings. Outgoing senior Nina Bukowski followed up her final season by trying out for the Polish Women’s National Team. Bukowski captained the team in an exhibition game.

In 2012, Citowicki led the Wildcats to a 9-8 finish, which tied the program's best finish since 2008. Under his direction, the Wildcats were named the Most Improved Team in all of Division III from 2011-2012. The program also received its first ever NSCAA Regional ranking.

Prior to arriving at St. Kate's, Citowicki served as an assistant women’s soccer coach at Augsburg College for the 2010 season. While at Augsburg, Citowicki was key in attracting new recruits to campus and helping the team to a winning record in the MIAC. Citowicki also served as the assistant coach at Bemidji State University from 2006-2008 and helped the team to a 12-6-1 record.

Citowicki has been an active member of the Olympic Development Program in Minnesota for the past 8 years, serving as head coach for numerous girls’ teams. He has coached three US National Pool players and multiple Region II standouts. Three of his teams have made it to the Region II Championships final.

Citowicki coaches club locally for the Minnesota Thunder Academy. He has developed numerous DIII, DII and DI players and is currently working with the 2003 age group pool. Prior to MTA Citowicki was involved with Woodbury Soccer Club.

Citowicki played professionally for several years in Australia before coming to the US to attend Lock Haven University. Citowicki graduated in 2006 and then went on to earn a Master of Science in sport studies from Bemidji State University.
