Basketball drops conference game to St. Mary's

Jenna Mistler
In their first game of the new year the Wildcats came out firing, but lost their momentum midway through the first half.  By halftime the Cardinals had pulled away to a 39-21 advantage and never looked back.

St. Kate's was led offensively by Sarina Baker, with twelve points and Jule Muegge, who scored eleven.  Jenna Mistler and Adele Simerson-Wallfred each pulled down seven rebounds to lead the Wildcats.  As a team St. Kate's shot 29.6% for the game, while St. Mary's shot 38.5% in the victory.

The Wildcats struggled controlling the ball, turning the ball over 25 times to St. Mary's 13.

St. Kate's is back in action Wednesday night, when they host St. Thomas at the Butler Center. Tip off is at 7:30 p.m.
