The Wildcat's beat a very solid St. Mary's team Friday night to notch their first conference victory of the season.
"This was an outstanding conference win for St. Kate's over a team that made the playoffs last season. This win was a team effort, with everyone contributing up and down the line-up. The Wildcats came out strong and played great doubles.
Lauren Beadnell and
Skye Coughlin came away with a decisive win at #2 doubles, while
Mackenzie Weber and
Kasie Rust really buckled down late in the match to win at #3 doubles. Doubles was the edge we needed to keep the ball rolling into singles.
MacKenzie Weber and
Danielle Munsterman both played solid, consistent singles resulting in wins at #5 and #6. Clinching the match for St. Kate's was
Lauren Beadnell, who fought back in the first to win a closely contested set and stayed tough throughout the second set. We have been pushing hard in practice, so it was really nice to see everything come together." Said Coach Ben Hateseth after the match.
