The Wildcats battled with St. Thomas until midway through the first half. With just under 10 minutes to play, the Tommies took the lead and never gave it back. Down 22-30 at halftime, St. Kate's would keep working until the final horn.

Laura Kalbfell and Sonja Ellingson were solid, as usual, scoring 19 and 17 respectively. Kalbfell added 11 rebounds and Megan Zillmer notched 10 boards.  St. Kate's shot almost 30% from 3-point range, but couldn't close the gap in the losing effort.

The Wildcats play again Wednesday night in the Butler Center when they take on Gustavus Adolphus at 7:30 p.m.
