After being down 24-26 at halftime, and struggling out of the gate in the second half, the Wildcats came roaring back from a 38-27 deficit at 14:17. Eventually taking the lead at the 8:20 mark, they never looked back in a 70-60 winning effort over St. Mary's.
Madison Pertler was the spark, coming off the bench and scoring 8 points in a row to lead the comeback. She finished with 12 points and 2 rebounds in 10 minutes of play in the half. Shooting a stellar 100% from the field including 2-2 from 3-point range and adding to her spotless shooting, going 2-2 from the free throw line.
St. Kate's was led by
Laura Kalbfell who notched 20 points and 9 rebounds on the night.
Sonja Ellingson chipped in with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals.
St. Mary's was led by Jess Miller, who put up a game-high 21 points and pulled down 6 rebounds.
The Wildcats shot 55% from the field in the second half and 40% from 3-point range in the comeback.
