Swimming & Diving competes at Carleton Quad

The Wildcat swimming & diving team continues to impress in the early going of their season, with several Wildcats posting top finishes at the Carleton Quad meet.  Senior diver Sarah Moody led the way by posting victories in both diving events.  Moody picked up right where she left off last season, posting a NCAA qualifying score in the 3-meter diving event.

Moody's score of 265.90 put her easily in first place and puts her on track to make another strong bid for the national meet this season.  She posted a score of 235.15 to win the 1-meter diving event.

Steffanie Jurusik turned in a pair of second place swims, with a time of 1:02.42 in the 100 back, just .2 behind the winner.  She tied for second in the 100 IM with a time of 1:04.03.  Bridget Perkins turned in a second place effort of her own in the 50 fly, and her time of 27.52 was less than a tenth of a second off first place.

"This was a really solid early season competition for our team," said Head Coach Shana Erickson, whose Wildcats take a short break from competition before hosting Concordia and Augsburg on November 18th.  In the meantime, the Wildcats will be teaming up with the rest of the MIAC swim teams to take part in the annual Hour of Power event next Tuesday evening.
