With every player contributing, the Wildcat tennis team picked up an impressive late-season win over Macalester on Sunday afternoon. St. Kate's swept in doubles and picked up wins at #5 and #6 singles to take the 5-4 win.
The Wildcat doubles teams started the match with outstanding wins, with #Michaela Burroughs and Jenna Olson taking an 8-2 win at the 1 spot. Kasie Rust and Danielle Munsterman teamed up for an 8-1 win at 2, while #Martha Ginder and Bethany Gapinski# recorded an 8-2 win at #3.
The momentum from the doubles sweep carried over to the singles competition, as every position played competitive and the Wildcats were able to pick up two wins to seal the match. Gapinski took a 6-2, 6-1 win at #5 and Kalyn Schroeder won at the #6 spot with a score of 6-1, 6-3.
The win brings the Wildcats to 3-4 in the MIAC and 5-9 on the season.
St. Kate's continues MIAC play when they travel to Moorhead, MN to play host Concordia on April 17th at 1:00 p.m.
