Continuing their ten game California road trip, the Wildcat softball team lost two games to the University of La Verne on Sunday, falling 0-10 in game one, 1-7 in game two.
The Wildcats fell behind early in game one, trailing 6-0 after the first inning. Unfortunately, St. Kate's struggled at the plate during the game and was unable to overcome the early deficit.
In game two the Wildcats got on the scoreboard, started by a bunt-single by Jenna Clark. After Clark stole second base, Kelsey Luedtke advanced her to third. Clark then reached home when shortstop Heidi Sande was able to reach first base on a pitcher error. But that was as far as the Wildcats' comeback would reach, as they fell 1-7.
St. Kate's looks to rebound tomorrow when they play a double-header against Concordia University (CA) in Irvine, California, starting at 2:00 p.m.
