The Wildcat basketball team beat Carleton College 68-40 Wednesday night in Northfield, Minnesota, bringing their MIAC record to 9-10 and season record to 10-12.
St. Kate's grabbed a 10-9 lead with 15:03 left in the first half off of a pair of free throws by Cassandra Hubler. The Wildcats would lead the rest of the game, taking a 36-19 advantage at halftime after Sonja Ellingson made a layup with two seconds left on the clock.
The second half was a continuation of the first, as St. Kate's went on a 9-0 run in just over 5 minutes to add to their lead. Laura Kalbfell and Megan Zillmer each had 12 points to help seal the Wildcat's victory. Jenna Olson added 9 points and 8 rebounds, while Ellingson chipped in 10 points and 6 rebounds.
The Wildcats had 34 points in the paint and held Carleton to just 14.They also held a 23-5 points-off-of-turnovers advantage.
St. Kate's plays their final regular season home game on Saturday, February 13th at 3:00 pm at Butler Center against Hamline.
