The St. Kate's hockey team defeated Augsburg College 4-1 to complete a sweep of the Auggies during the home-and-home series. With the win, the Wildcats improve to 4-0 on the season, and 2-0 in MIAC play.
On Thursday night
Aryn Ball's hat trick fueled the Wildcats win, on Saturday it was
MIchaela Michaelson's hat trick that propelled the St. Kate's victory.
Augsburg jumped out to a 1-0 lead less than two minutes into the game, and held that going into the first intermission.
After that Michaleson went on a scoring tear. She scored two goals in the second period and two more in the third period to give the Wildcats the 4-1 victory.
With a record of 4-0 St. Kate's is now off to their best start since the 1999-2000 season, when they opened the season by going 5-0.
The Wildcats return to action December fourth when they host St. Mary's University at Ridder Arena at 7 pm.
