Brooke Hakanson has been named Wildcat Athlete of the Week after continuing her strong all-around play for the St. Kate's basketball team.
Hakanson averaged 14.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and had 3 steals last week as the Wildcats closed out the 2008 portion of their season. The returning MIAC Honorable Mention award winner has been a key player as the Wildcats are off to a 5-2 overall, 2-2 in MIAC start.
Brooke is currently 5th in conference play with an average of 15.8 points per game. She is also ninth in the MIAC with 6.8 rebounds per game, second with 4.5 assists per game, and second with a 4.5 assist-to-turnover ratio.
The Wildcats resume play on January 3, 2009 when they travel to St. Peter and face current MIAC leader, Gustavus Adolphus College.
