Junior hockey team captain Aryn Ball has been named Wildcat Athlete of the Week for her outstanding play in the Wildcats two MIAC victories last week.

Ball scored six points as St. Kate's defeated Augsburg College by identical 5-1 scores on both Friday and Saturday.

In Friday's game Ball helped the team get off to a quick start scoring her first goal less than ninety seconds into the game. On the night she had three goals, on only three shots. She also picked up an assist.

When the teams returned to the ice on Saturday, Ball recorded two more assists as the Wildcats had to come from behind for the victory, scoring three goals in the final period to secure the win.

Ball's six points during the weekend equal her career best one weekend output. She now has nine points in nine games and is tied for the team lead with five assists.

The Wildcats are now 4-4-1 on the season, and 2-2 in MIAC play. They play their final two games of the 2008 calendar year on Thursday and Friday when they face Hamline University.
