The College of St. Catherine athletic department is pleased to announce that Celestine Ventura has been named Wildcat Athlete of the Week for her performance at last weekend's Bethel Invite.

The sophomore from La Pueta, Calif. began to put her stamp on the St. Kate's record book by setting two new school records in the meet.  Ventura's weight throw mark of 14.76 meters (48-5.25 ft) betters the previous school record by 18 inches while her shot put mark of 12.24 meters (40-2 ft) is a one-foot improvement upon the old record.

As a team the Wildcats set four new school records at the meet and are poised to make a run at several other school records throughout the remainder of the season.
