Benka will begin her fifth season with the Wildcats in 2015. She was the head coach at Minneapolis South High School in 2010 and served as an assistant varsity coach for 10 years around the Twin Cities.  Benka has also has been coaching at the Minnnesota Select Volleyball Club for five seasons. 

Benka graduated with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education and a minor in coaching from St. Cloud State University in 2001. Benka was an all-conference and all-region middle hitter during her time at St. Cloud. She was also a team captain and three-time offensive MVP.  Along with volleyball, she competed in track and field earning all-conference in the outdoor high jump.
