I'm proud to be a Wildcat because: it helps me become a well-rounded person. 

What do you enjoy most about being a student-athlete at St. Catherine?: The support from my teammates and teachers on and off the ice. 

2017-18: In her final season with the Wildcats, Nelson played in all 25 games for St. Kate's. She tallied four points thanks to four assists during the year. 

2016-17: In her third season with St. Kate's, Nelson played in 24 games for the Wildcats, tallying two goals and two assists for four total points. She scored her first goal of the season in a 3-1 loss to St. Thomas in January and scored the second against St. Olaf later that month. Both of Nelson's goals were power play goals. 

2015-16: As a sophomore, Nelson played in 23 games for the Wildcats and tallied two assists for two points. 

2014-15: In her first season as a Wildcat, Nelson played in all 25 games at defense. She finished the year with five points, four assists and one goal. Her goal was a power play goal that came in a 1-1 tie with St. Thomas. 

High School: Nelson was a four-sport athlete in high school. She helped lead East Grand Forks to a second-place finish at state in hockey ad earned all-tournament team honors. She was also an all-conference and all-section player for hockey and two-year captain. In volleyball, Nelson was a three-year captain and four times all-conference. She was the team's MVP twice. In softball, Nelson was all-state and all-conference, and in track she was a state participant in 2014. She was named the Best Athlete of 2014 by the Grand Forks Herald. Outside of athletics, Nelson was a National Honors Society emmber, student council member, band a choir participant and an honor roll student.

Personal: Nelson chose to attend St. Kate's because of the campus and its size as well as the academic and athletic prestige. She is a public health major and dean's list student. Nelson has worked with the "mile in my Shoes" research project through the public health department and volunteered at the children's hospital alst year. She is the daughter of Bruce and Kari Nelson.
