Biography

I'm proud to be a Wildcat because: of what it represents.

What do you enjoy most about being a student-athlete at St. Catherine?: I enjoy being a student-athlete at St. Kate's because it creates an environment for me to grow as an athlete, student and person.

2016: Strickland will begin her final season with the Wildcats in 2016.

2015: During her junior season, Strickland consistently finished in the team's top five and was second in four races. She recorded a season-best time of 23:59 at the UW-River Falls Falcon Invitational to open the year.

2014: As a sophomore, Strickland was the top Wildcat finisher at the MIAC Championships placing 38th with a time of 23:53. She then set a new PR at the NCAA Regional Meet with a time of 23:35 that ranks No. 4 all-time at St. Kate's. Strickland was selected as the team's MVP.

2013: In her first season as a Wildcat, Strickland ran 24:39 at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational to take the No. 17 spot on the St. Kate's all-time performance list. She was also the fifth Wildcat finisher at the MIAC Championships. She was also the team's Rookie of the Year.

High School: Strickland was captain of both the cross country and track and field teams her junior and senior years at Rochester Lourdes High School. She appeared in the state cross country meet three times and was all-conference four times. In track and field, Strickland appeared in the state meet twice and was three-time all-conference. She was the MVP of the track team three times and once for cross country. Strickland also earned academic all-state honors.

Personal: Strickland chose St. Catherine because she felt connected to the people she met on her visit including the cross country team and the coaches. Strickland is also a member of the track and field team and the Wildcat Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (WSAAC). Strickland studied abroad in England and Scotland. She is a nursing major and member of the student nurses' association. She is the daughter of Steven and Kathleen Strickland.
