Biography

2015 Statistics

I'm proud to be a Wildcat because: we are a big family in a small school.

2015: In her first season as a Wildcat, Astar played in all 31 matches and ranked in the top 25 in the MIAC for kills (224), and hitting percentage (.229). She also ranked fourth in total blocks (86) which is sixth most in a single season at St. Kate's. Her .85 blocks per set ranked seventh in the MIAC. Astar recorded the highest kill total for a single match on the team in 2015 with 25 kills in the season-ending win over Hamline.

High School: At Hastings, Astar was a junior and senior captain of the volleyball team and earned all-conference honors both years. She was also all-conference honorable mention as a sophomore. Astar graduated with the highest blocking percentage in Hastings history and was the team's MVP as a senior. Outside of volleyball, she was a class officer, student council and drama club member and peer tutur. She also volunteered with Big Brothers, Big Sisters.

Personal: Astar chose St. Kate's because of the beautiful campus, location in the city and academic offerings. She plans to major in psychology and women's studies. Astar is the daughter of David and Deborah Astar.
